Getting Covid Sucks

So it finally happened. After three years of avoiding getting infected with Covid, it strikes anyway. And lemme tell you - it really sucks. Of course, I've got vaccinations under my belt, but the last one I had was over a year ago. Whether it's still effective remains to be seen.

Well, it certainly isn't as bad as it could be. My symptoms are headaches, light sensitivity, extreme fatigue, lack of appetite, and chills. Bit of coughing, too but nothing too crazy. Of those, it's the fatigue that gets me. I mean, walking my dog around the block tires out my legs really quickly, which is way out of character for me. I can usually walk for hours without getting tired.

What's worst is that I can barely concentrate on my writing. I tried to write a few chapters today and what I ended up with on the page is kind of a rambling, meandering mess, lol. Basically, they're unfit for publishing, and that sets me back a week.

How deeply frustrating.

I blame shithead Republican leaders for their inaction or outright acknowledgement of the seriousness of the virus. If it wasn't for them, this country would be in much better shape. I'm definitely going to be bringing this grudge at every ballot from here on out.

Also, I'm going to try to spend the rest of this week healing up and then try to catch up next week. I'll do my absolute best not to have any hiatuses, but I obviously can't promise that. Who knows what this virus has in store for me.

Wish me luck.
