Narrative Flow Plot Key

Okay, so I keep posting these flows, and if you've looked at them, you might be wondering what all the color-coding is. Well, maybe not. But I'm going to tell you anyway. How exciting! Well, maybe not. Definitely if you're a writer, though. If you're not excited and you're a writer, shame on you.

All jabs aside, it's a typical writer technique to use color-coded cards when building narratives. Screenwriters in particular rely heavily on this method. It makes sense to do, especially for complex stories. A great ability that it confers is that when you stand back and look at your work, you're able to see how the plot flows from a more conceptual point of view. There's more, of course, but I wouldn't want to deprive you of your exploration of the technique.

Anyway, I'm sure it'll grow as I add more plot flourishes to the flows.

Take a look.
